Printing Labels
How To: Route Labels to Designated Printers
Once you have both BarTender Label Printers and BarTender Labels set up, you can predefine the printers to which each label will be routed.
In this example, we are going to route the “ILE” label we created earlier in the How To: Create a BarTender Label in BC section to a printer on the network called “Label Printer.”
Click the magnifying glass and in the search box type in BarTender Label Printer Setup.
From a new line or by clicking New, in the On Event column, select From Item Ledger Entry.
While on the same line, select a Label Code to be associated to the On Event.
Select a Printer Name to associate to the On Event and Label Code. Once complete, the page can be closed.
How To: Print Labels from Business Central
Once your Labels have been created and mapped to BarTender, you can begin printing from the pages associated with the tables defined in the BarTender Labels that you have set up.
In this example, we will show how to print a BarTender Label from the Item Ledger Entries page using the “ILE” label created in “How To: Create a BarTender Label in BC”.
Click the magnifying glass, type Item Ledger Entries in the Search bar and click the related link.
In the Action Pane, click Process and then Print to BarTender.
Note
The Print to BarTender button will only be available when one or more BarTender Labels are enabled that uses that page’s Source Table.
Enter in the number of labels you wish to print for each record within the selection in the No. of Labels field. If the “Set Value as Default No. of Copies” checkbox was selected on the BarTender Label, the Has Default No. of Label field will be checked (“true”) and the last column will display the Default No. of Labels Source. Click OK to send the label(s) to the assigned printer.
Note
If the Has Default No. of Labels box is checked and you enter a quantity in the No. of Labels you will get a message asking you if you want to override the No. of Labels to Print. Click Yes to override the default quantity to replace with the value you entered. Alternatively, if you want to cancel the override and accept the default, click No.
Additional Information
Below is an example of a basic printed Label that includes the Item No, Item Description, Quantity, and a barcode for the Item No. from a Purchase Receipt record in Item Ledger Entries.
This is the basic BarTender Label template design used to print the above sample label.
