Service Unavailable Error
When labels do not print, you may get a message that relates to being unable to connect to the server. One example is the "503 Service Unavailable" error used in the When there is an Error Message section.
- When the BarTender Label Integration Log page opens, it should be sorted with the most recent entries at the top of the list. You can confirm the record you are looking for by the Label Code on that record.
When you get this or a similar error, that has to do with connectivity, you will want to check the Windows Services and make sure they are running. The four services used by BarTender and the BarTender Integration are highlighted below. These services will reside on the machine that the BarTender Designer software is installed on.
- The services can be accessed by clicking the Windows button at the bottom left of the taskbar and typing Services in the search bar and selecting Services from the results list.
- When the Services window opens, look for the four BarTender Services and see if they are running. If they are not running you can right click the service and then click run.
Note
You will probably have to work with your IT team if the service is running and you get a communication error, or if the service is not running and you cannot start it.
